A Cambodian opposition Sam Rainsy Party (SRP) MP’s son was shot dead after a traffic accident in Phnom Penh, a police official said.
Yun Thavron, son of Sam Rainsy MP Yun Tharo, was killed at 7:20pm on August 9 near the old National Assembly building, next to the RoyalPalace, Yim Socheat, Daun Penh Police inspector said. He added that Thavro was killed and his friends injured by gunfire.
“At least one was killed and three were injured,” Socheat wrote in his report.
Phnom Penh Police Chief Touch Naroth told DAP News Cambodiathat his officials have been ordered to arrest the criminals. “We are seeking the shooter,” he said.
Samrainsy MP Yun Tharo could not be reached for comment.
