Royal Group Authorized as Motorola Distributor in Cambodia

Cambodian tycoon Kith Meng was authorized as the sole distributor of Motorola two-way radio systems on Thursday.

Chairman of the Royal Group, General of Cambodian Television Network (CTN), and President of Cambodian Parliament of Trade Kith Meng met with Vice President for Systems Sales, South and East Asia, Motorola Enterprise Mobility Solutions, Asia Pacific, Chew Guan Sing. Numerous other VIPs were also in attendance.

“We are very excited over taking our strategic collaboration with Motorola to a new level by becoming the exclusive distributor by providing two-way radio systems solutions in Cambodia,” he said.

Kith Meng received the Certificate of Authorization of Motorola Inc. (NYSE:MOT) to be distributed via the Royal Cambodia Company. At a pre-ceremony press conference Kith Meng explained that “The Royal Cambodia Company is part of the Royal Group which is the premier investment and development company in the country, with successful business operations ranging from banking and telecommunications to the media.”

“The Royal Group has built an excellent reputation in the market and has strong relations with Government agencies and leading multinational companies such as Motorola,” he added

The Royal Group, he said, is focused on bringing quality investment to Cambodia and providing investors with the platform to run successful and profitable operations. Moreover, the Royal Group is recognized as the kingdom’s most dynamic and diversified business conglomerate, maintaining interests in a wide of industries including telecommunications, the media, insurance, resorts, education, property development, trading, public transportation, fast food and agriculture.

Motorola’s Chew Guan Sing stated at the press conference that “The Royal Group brings the industry expertise and market knowledge to our relationship. We are delighted to strengthen our partnership with the Royal Cambodia Company and continue our efforts in meeting the communications needs for both government and enterprise sectors.”

“Motorola (NYSE: MOT) sold US$ 30.1 billion in 2008,” according to Motorola company‘s statement.

Chew Guan Sing explained that “Motorola first entered the Cambodia market in 1992 and provided Cambodia’s first trunked radio system for public safety use.
